This page is for anyone with a Figbloom account: parents, learners,
teachers, drivers and other school staff, in the Figbloom Schools app,
the Figbloom Teacher app, or the web console.
Figbloom accounts are created by schools, and each school controls the
records it keeps about its learners, families and staff. So a request to
delete an account is carried out together with the school.
How to ask
Ask your school. Tell the school's office you want
your account (or your child's) removed. A school administrator can
remove a person from the web console.
your login ID, and which app you use (never your password);
what you want: the whole account deleted, some information
deleted, or something corrected;
for a child's account, that you are their parent or guardian.
We will check the request really comes from you, tell you we have it,
and work with your school to carry it out.
What happens
The account is removed, so it can no longer sign in, and personal
information that belongs only to you is deleted.
Some records are not only yours. Marks, attendance, report cards
and fee and payment records are the school's academic and financial
records, and a school may be required to keep them. Where a record has
to stay, the school keeps it; we do not use it for anything else.
Learners who leave a school are archived by the school rather than
erased.
If a school has to keep a record that names you, for example
attendance a teacher entered, the account may be closed while that
record stays with the school.
Messages in a conversation are also part of the other person's
record. They cannot be edited or removed once sent.
Correcting information
If something about you or your child is wrong, ask the school to correct
it, or write to the address above. Parents can also request changes to
their child's bio details from the Figbloom Schools app, which the
school then reviews.
If you are not satisfied
You can complain to Kenya's Office of the Data Protection Commissioner
(odpc.go.ke). More on what we collect and why is in our
privacy policy.
